Packaging Changes
After reading the reviews on this product I was a bit concerned on what the shipment would look like on arrival. From the first look it appears the shipper has made a few adjustments that are working. First there were hard cardboard angles supports attached to each outer edge of the box. They looked like they took some hits but did their job. Upon opening the box my concerns were dispelled as several inches of hard Styrofoam surrounded the edges of the box and additional protective material around each piece. Needles to say, there were no bumps or scratches.I would agree with the others that the coloring is much darker, but my wife and I think it makes the furniture look even better. We are very happy with the look now that it is setup.

My new furniture purchase
I looked at hundreds of TV stands before deciding on this one and I could'nt be happier or more pleased with the way this stand has fit in to my home theater system. It is exactly what I needed for the components I had planned to use and its a beautiful piece of furniture as well!!! My system looks as good as it sounds and it looks and sounds unbelievable !!

Damaged in shipping!
I ordered this 60" Wide Flat Panel Hiboy from Amazon when it was sold and shipped directly from Amazon. I chose this item based on the reviews here and the photos of it. We've searched for a long time to find the right unit for us.The unit arrived in 3 days. Remarkable service by Amazon. However, the unit is not well packaged. The top piece has a smashed corner, and the box is damaged in the same place. There is no cushioning, protective packaging for the corners of this furniture piece, so nothing protects it if dropped in shipping.So we've had it for one day now. Unfortunately the piece that is damaged is the largest and most difficult part to get to in the packaging. We hoped that the manufacturer, Techcraft, would agree to replace just the piece that is damaged. They have a form on their website to request just such a remedy. I'm waiting to hear from them if they will just send us a new top piece.However, Amazon is in the way of all...

Very Nice
The box was heavier than expected and pretty long. Once I got it home, the assembly was pretty straight forward. It took about an hour or so to assemble. The build quality was really good. All the pre-drilled holes lined up and all the connections felt pretty solid. The color is great and there's plenty of room for lots of components. I really like the fact it has 2 storage areas behind solid doors to put stuff you don't want to look at all the time (game console stuff, discs, etc).I was afraid the doors were not going to line up when they were closed. The floor model in the store wasn't very lined up. But after I tightened everything, it was pretty close and there are adjustment screws to get it a little closer. But, I was not able to fine tune it as well as I would've liked.Note -- I originally ordered this from Ritz on Amazon. After over a week, they contacted me to tell me the item was no longer available. They gave me a full refund and a 25$...

Great TV Stand for Large TV!
Had recently purchased a 70" Sharp Aquos LCD TV and needed a much bigger TV stand to accommodate the larger width. This TV stand fits the 70" TV perfectly with about a quarter inch to spare on each side and plenty deep enough. The stand includes enough storage space to fit lots of DVDs, games, accessories and the component shelves are better than cheaper stands since they have plenty of ventilation both under each shelf and at the back of the unit. I have a large Onkyo receiver that can get a little warm and it's done very well in this unit, along with my original Xbox 360 (which we all know can double as a heater) has done extremely well.Overall I am pleased with the unit. Assembly was as easy as it can get, and even the backing went on much easier than cheaper TV stands I've put together in the past. For this great price, this is a well made, sturdy, and very functional piece.

Great TV stand for the price
Just received this stand and put it together this week. I've been on the lookout for a great stand at a great price for a few months now and finally settled on this one after exhaustive researching. The price dropped to $265 + Free shipping and I just couldn't pass that up!First things first, this baby weights A LOT! I still can't believe they shipped it for free. I was a little intimidated after opening the box and seeing all the parts. But after taking a deep breath, laying everything out nicely and browsing the instructions briefly it wasn't bad at all and everything made sense. I almost had a heart attack when I thought one of the support feet were missing but a quick check back into the box with tons of wrapping and foam to keep the parts safe and I found it. I didn't time myself but I'm thinking maybe a good 60 to 90 minutes putting this one together is about right. I love the color and finish on this. While it is black it almost has a dark brown feel about the color...

Looks great but isn't very practical
They do a great job mixing quality wood that's visible and low quality wood (to keep costs down) in all parts that aren't visible.This stands looks really nice but it isn't very practical. The mesh center cabinet meant for your center speaker is far too small to fit the majority of center channel speakers. The side cabinets aren't wide enough to fit the larger receivers.This is still a quality sturdy stand but make sure if you need it to hold your components that it will fit them properly.

Very pleased
I debated for weeks between this one and the smaller 48". We bought a 50" plasma, and technically could have purchased the smaller, less expensive model, but I am very happy we went with the 60" stand. It is substantial looking and the TV seems safer and more stable on this size. Yes, it is not real wood, but a 60" entertainment stand made from all wood was more expensive than the 50" plasma. For the price, this is an excellent buy. If you want a piece of furniture to last your lifetime, and become a family heirloom, you probably aren't buying pressboard from Amazon.

Outstanding quality and customer service
For the price, this unit is absolutely top of the line. I have never had a particle board furniture piece be as sturdy and good looking as this. Not only is the product sturdy, but techcraft's customer service is phenomenal.When I had received the product initially, the top shelf had a dent in one of the corners. I contacted their customer service e-mail, and without hesitation, they sent me a replacement (a 40 pound piece!) by fedex for free. It was a mere 3 business days between when I submitted my service request, and the replacement was on my doorstep.I will absolutely recommend this product and company to my friends, and plan to buy more from techcraft in the future.

Good TV stand for the money.
Good product for the money. We had visited several furniture stores and everything was either overpriced or unattractive. This unit looked fairly good and seemed to provide ample storage for movies, games and components. Stand arrived in about 5 days with standard delivery. It is a very heavy unit and requires a good bit of assembly, but my wife and I were able to put it together in about and hour and half taking time here and there to occupy the kids. Looks good in a living room and is about the right height for comfortable viewing.

Pleased with our new, elegant TV stand
We just purchased this TV stand (somewhere else) and LOVE it! We were concerned that our DVD player and speakers may not fit into the unit but to our surprise everything fit perfectly and we still have plenty of room for DVDs. Our 42" flat screen looks great and we have lots of room on the sides which is what I wanted. I was worried that it would make the TV look small but it does not. The middle door has a screen over it instead of glass which would be great for speakers. One thing I love here is that they make this part sort of optional and the screen can be removed and another piece of glass (not included) can be placed there instead to match with the other two side doors.It was quite heavy and bringing the box up to our 3rd floor apartment was interesting. When I first looked at the assembly directions it felt like a daunting task but after organizing all the parts and making a game plan it wasn't that bad. It took us about two hours to put together. Written specifically for the Techcraft SWP60 Veneto series.INTERIOR DIMENSIONS: I couldn't find these in other reviews or on the company's website, so I had to buy it and pray. Left and Right compartments are 17.75"D x 18.125"W x 16.5"H. Note that you can only see 14.5" of that height - the top two inches are covered with a decorative, necessary board.Remember to account for the shelves you plan on using - they take up just less than .75" each. Also note that interior hinges keep you from using 100% of the depth and width at the same time. That is, you may have to push something back about a half an inch from the front if it is a full 17" wide component.The interior dimensions of the middle compartment are exactly the same except the width is 18.75 inches - a little extra to accommodate many center channel speakers. Excellent on the outside!!! Bad on the inside!!!
This thing is huge and very heavy. FedEx was lucky I was in the house when they made the delivery, because for sure, the driver would have a sore back after carrying this fine piece of furniture. It took me I think a little over 2 hours to assemble this item. Everything was perfect when it comes to placing the screws, doors, hinges, etc. Seems like this was perfectly outlined and planned in the factory for consumers to assemble all the pieces together without any glitch. My goodness, when it all came together, it looked like it was made from solid wood. Fine piece of art.Now for the negative. This is the deciding factor for consumers whether to get it for looks over funtion. When I placed my Pioneer Elite 84 in one of the racks, whoa, I cannot close the door and this piece lacks in depth. Great looking piece and an excellent value
This was the first Tech Craft product that I purchased. It was easy to assemble and looks REALLY GOOD. The outside pieces that are seen such as the top and front are wood and are very attractive. The "guts" of the frame are made of MDF and are very solid.Doors fit well and the hinges are nice, with a quiet close feature.The shelves have two hole positions. I put my A/V receiver on the bottom shelf and there is only about an inch to spare above with the shelf on the top position. It would be nice to have more holes drilled for greater flexibility with shelf height. Many A/V receivers run hot and need proper ventilation.Packaging was excellent. This was a major concern for shipping of very heavy items. One interior panel has a long scratch in it, but it wasn't something that could be seen when assembled.They do an excellent job with construction. Received this item in a beat-up carton with several large holes with finished panels visible! Immediately unpacked and was surprised that nothing was significantly damaged or missing. Assembled in about an hour. Unit is one step above the Walmart stuff. Veneer on top (of course) had a long narrow void that looks to have been filled, sanded and finished over. One of the doors had veneer puckering and splitting. several of the other parts had obvious dents that were finished over. Make sure you install the two additional center legs under the unit as it will sag under it's own weight. The center leg on the front panel isn't enough. Also, you will have to adjust the door alignment every time you move it as it flexes a lot. We bought this as temporary furniture while on work assignment, so it will serve the purpose and it wasn't worth the hassle to complain to Amazon or to try to ship back the 150 lbs. beast in the destroyed carton. The curved front is cool and it looks good from ten feet...
