Great product!! Very user friendly!
Was torn between the Bounty hunter 505 and the Garrett ACE 250. After making my decision I was very happy with Bounty Hunter 505.. It is a Great metal detector for the whole family!! This metal detector is very user friendly and works excellent. All it takes is turn it on and go..The price is very affordable and the machine compares with some of the big guns on the market. Best of all it finds lots of treasures!!! You will be very pleased with this product!! Happy Hunting!!!

It's a surprisingly good detector at a great price. I hunt parks, playgrounds and private residences and for that use the detector has proved to be a good purchase for me.My other detector an ACE 250 which I bought after reading the rave reviews, has disappointed me in a couple of ways, primarily pinpointing and inaccurate target ID. The Bounty does both superbly and in addition has extraordinary sensitivity and really picks up those deep coins. In short if I spend x number of hours in the field with each detector I will dig a lot more coins (and have) with the Bounty Hunter.The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that on my machine when you turn the discriminate all the way down, the detector powers down. Since I haven't had a need to operate with zero discrimination this has not been a problem for me but for some it would be. Probably a simple fix if I sent it to the factory but I haven't been willing to part with the machine to do that.I bought separately the...

Excellent Value Detector
Surprisingly lightweight, but very sophisticated device. Revealed my yard to be literally peppered with targets, but with practice and careful attention to the DVD tips I was able to begin picking out coins from pieces of wire, pipe, tabs, nails and other stuff that came from my workshop. Beginners might want to take along a voice recorder for making notes about the sounds associated with different types of targets and the depth at which they're found. Easy handling. Well built and durable. Good battery life. Sensitivity and pinpointing are excellent. Highly Recommended!

Money well spent, and FOUND!
I love my 3300! It has very good depth, great adjustability, very accurate, lots-o-features, light weight/well designed, etc. If it says somthing is there, bank on it! I have found a ton of coins, some rings, jewelery, and tools with this detector, and look forward to using it every time. Battery life for the two 9 volts is pretty good, just the same I bought 9volt rechargables to save some $$$.I bought mine on a super sale for less than half of the current price, so even with its great results, you might look at other detectors in its current price range just to see how they compare. "Treasure Hunting" w/ My Bounty Hunter Discovery 3300 Metal Detector
I have only been "treasure hunting" four times since I received my Bounty Hunter Discovery 3300 Metal Detector. I've seen other people using metal detectors at the beach and parks and, sinceI love to walk on the beach, I thought it might be fun. I am 63 with arthritis and was somewhat concerned about carrying it. However, I am pleased to say that this metal detector is very light and easy to hold. I am still learning how to set the detecting features; so it's a little hard to be specific. The electronics are easy to read and seem to be accurate. When the sound goes off showing, for instance, a quarter; I have found a quarter. I have not had the opportunity, or taken the time, to use all the features, such as pinpointing but feel confident that this metal detector will perform as expected.

A Good Product
I purchased this product about six months ago and have been perpetually using it since then! Even though my Bounty Hunter 4 detector came with a different search coil, I have been using this one instead. It really helps one to quickly narrow down (pinpoint) where the metal item is in the ground. With this coil, I have found items as far down as eight inches in the ground. Technically, it isn't supposed to be able to detect this far, but it does!Simply stated, it's a good product! If you can, get it.

WOW! I am amazed with this coil!!
I am most interested in using my metal detector for hunting minerals that are conductive, like pyrite and galena. I bought a bounty hunter tracker 4, and was rather disappointed in the performance. For example, looking for pyrite, the specimens needed to be rather large - greater than one and a half inches (along one dimension - they could be thinner, though) to be detected. However, I then put this coil on the detector and WHOA! I could then find cubes that were as small as 1/2"!! That's amazing detectability from such an inexpensive instrument.For those of you unfamiliar, minerals are inherently higher resistance than plain metals, and are therefore harder to detect - you need a larger sample to create a response.Since the coil is smaller, its depth range is much less, so this is mainly for finding smaller items near the surface.With this coil I can find some rather small metal objects too! Objects like a sewing needle. So, yes, this thing can help you find...

Be Careful of Compatibility Claims
The descriptions here state that this coil is compatible with "All models of Bounty Hunter Detectors." If you bought the awesome here on Amazon, then picked up this little nugget coil, you'll be disappointed to learn that the new little coil has a plug attachment, whereas the Gold Digger has a permanently wired large coil. In other words, you can't attach the nugget coil to that model of Bounty Hunter as claimed! We are the authors of the Prospector's Bible and run the Become a Prospector dot com site and review many detectors for our members, as well as the Gold Prospectors and Miners Assn (GPMAA dot org). To give a positive balance to this compatibility problem, the Gold Digger Detector itself, for between $60 and $80 here on Amazon, and eligible for Prime free shipping, is comparable to $1,000 plus detectors...

Excellent Metal Dectector for the Beginner!
