Wonderful
I was hesitant to pay for a system like this after being let down by Nioxin, and was about to give up hope, but after using the system for over a month and still not noticing a difference, people started commenting on how my hair looked better and after about three months I started noticing a change and even my family said my hair looked much thicker. It irritates me sometimes to have let the product sit in my hair for a few minutes (lazy, I know) - but it works so well that I keep using it, and plan to keep using it.

Worked for me
This was hands down a better product than Nioxin. It worked for me. I had noticeable hair re-growth in about a month. Of course I was using the product in combination with Biotin 5000mg, so who knows. Either way, I had noticeable hair growth and it did not fade my color treated hair.

It Works and is a great product for ethnic, thick hair, soft or coarse
I've purchased this product from Sally's beauty supply and I used it on my scalp when I got my hair braided. It does have a little strange odor but you can easily spray a light all natural oil sheen on top of it and its gone. I just put it directly on my scalp and massaged it. I did it a few times a week and after I removed my braids, my hair was soft, strong, and it grew a lot. Its a good addition to any hair growth regimen that you currently have in place. My regimen to help my hair grow and become stronger, consist of this, carrot oil in the jar by organic root stimulator, and a spray by triple gro and hair vitamins by super hair energizer. Amazing results, but smells funny
Of all the hair products I've ever tried, this is the only one that gave solid results. My hair was soft, manageable and stopped breaking completely. It grew so fast my friends started asking me what I using and I was amazed as well. ONLY problem: this stuff smells funny. That's because it's free of articial perfumes and such, which was GREAT for my hair but cramped my social style. I stopped using Wild Growth due to the smell, but I'm going to try it again (I'm having a hair crisis!) and maybe use a sweet smelling natural oil or hair spray to mask the funny odor.

Great item, but don't buy this on Amazon.
This is a good product, within the first use I noticed my hair was softer and more manageable and I'm not completely 100% sure because I'm not the type of person to measure but after a few weeks I think I've noticed faster hair growth. With use of this everytime I felt that my scalp was becoming dry again, It solved my severe dandruff problem also. Great to put on hair before blow drying to not only protect from the heat but give you a frizz free smooth and shiny blow dry or straightener style with little to no breakage. I gave it 4 stars because SOME people may not like the smell, I found it quite to the contrary and I found it pleasant, has sort of a sweet smell to it, not amazingly good smelling but nothing to complain about at all. I'm not sure for people of nonafrican hair but I recommend it for African Americans of all ages (yes it's mostly, if not all. natural so it would even be good for use on babies and the toddlers) if you want faster growth, stronger ,softer and more...

MYTHS DISPELLED!!
I have read the other reviews with great interest and I have come to the conclusion that you can't please everyone. However, I noticed that there were references to other books about black hair, specifically the Shamboosie book. I don't know Cathy Howse, but as a black scientist and a physicianI do know that there were NO SHAMBOOSIES or Bamboosies 15 years ago who were writing intelligent guidelines to care for the hair of black women. CATHY HOWSE is the FIRST author to seriously address and dispel the myths and the subculture attitudes of black hair grooming and growing. The other epigones are too late as far as I am concerned. I have had professional hairstylists and hairdressers "take care" of my hair all my adolescent and adult life. I was so afraid to wash it by myself. I just scurried off to the hairdresser once or twice a week; had relaxers placed according to THEIR schedules and followed their "advice" to the letter. After all, they were...

UBHGII has been a lifesaver!
I first came across UBHGII while I was on the net trying to get as much information as I could on addressing the needs of my hair. I was having problems following the use of Rio products-yes, I made a grievous mistake, and believe me for the last seven years I have been paying for it-severe breakage, dryness, lack of texture-it didn't feel real; and no visible growth at all. And, yet it was not my hair I was concerned about. I have 4 little girls ages 12, 11 10, and 7-that means I have alot of hair to take care of. I relunctantly made the decision to put a perm in the 3 older children's hair, and shortly after that, breakage. I couldn't believe the amount of breakage we experiended. Disappointing
*UPDATED*I wrote the original review for this book 10 years ago- wow! I've changed the rating from 2 to 4 stars, for a few reasons:1. Not sure I conveyed this in the first review, but the 1st edition was a magical book. The idea of good care for black hair had never occurred to me, and it was an awakening. This was the first book of it's kind on the market, and started a revolution. I'm incredibly grateful to the author for that.2. It's hard to rank this book. At the time the first edition came out, it was easily a 5. Didn't like the current edition as much (as stated below). The first just had this more fun vibe and I enjoyed reading it over and over again, and included a recipe for conditioner. A GREAT Sunscreen with no MESSY GOOP

Amazing Sunscreen in a Powder!
I apply Bee Sunny Mineral Powder Sunscreen on my face before putting on any makeup. I was a little sceptical the first time I used it, but I gardened in full sun for 4 hours with absolutely no burn or tan! It is so gentle on your skin and I love using products with no scary additives. I use Queen Bee's Refillable Brush to apply the powder. Can't recommend Queen Bee's products enough!
