Great price, great sound.
I hooked this SW up too my Yamaha tuner and Klipsch Quintet II speakers. The first thing I watched was Apocalypse Now due to the phenominal 5.1 sound. The subwoofer is tremendous. You can have it as loud or as subtle as you want and it doesnt distort. Hook up was a breeze via a single "SW cable" (not supplied). I'm not a tech head but I had no problems putting it all together.The sub has its own power supply which is an absolute must have from a power set up standpoint.Just a side note.... all these components are only as good as the bit in the middle (the tuner) and the amount of power that it can push to the individual parts. Once you have it all set right this sub will last you a long long long time before you outgrow it.I WOULD buy this product again if I had too.

Plenty of Power.
Amazing sound and Power! I wouldn't buy this for an apartment or townhouse unless you like making people angry. I debated getting the Klipsch SUB-12 but unless you are putting it in a huge room the SUB-10 is more than enough. I have it in a 13 ft by 25 ft room and it's set at maybe 30% if you consider the dial on the back and the adjustment on my receiver. Up much higher and it never shuts up. I like loud sub sound but when it rattles the walls even during the commercials it can get old. Also, the fullness of the sound is great. It sits to the left of my TV but you wouldn't be able to point to the sound source if you couldn't see it sitting there. It's not a small piece of equipment so make sure you note the dimensions.

Very happy!
Deeper base than my old Bose 321 system. For an 8 inch speaker makes a deep base sound. I have heard better but from larger, more expensive subwoofers.

Bang, literally, for the buck
I purchased one of these from Amazon about 9 months ago, to replace an old Polk 150w sub. Even though this was a smaller size driver/cone, it significantly out-performed the Polk it replaced. I liked it so much, that I wanted a second one to have a less "directional" bass. In my house, I can't position the bass where it's location audibly isn't obvious. So I waited for another 'sale', and added a second one. This rounded out the room, and the positional nature of the bass source(s), is no longer apparent. It simply rounds-out the room. The directional nature of the bass, is not a subwoofer issue -- it's a placement issue.For the price vs. performance, for my 7.1 Home Theater environment, this was a wonderful addition.I will note, that both units sit on hardwood floors, and even with the rubber pads (that come with it) underneath the smallish feet, it will 'walk' a bit if you really crank it up -- especially for music, etc... Hasn't bothered me enough to...

Great Subwoofer
I am a frequent poster over at the AVSForum and most people in their will absolutely tell you that HSU, SVS, etc. are better subs than Klipsch. While that may be true, there are some of us that support our local B&M stores or prefer the convenience of being able to get in the car and return it and be back out the door with a new one within an hour. I am one of those people who likes the ease of B&M stores.Initially I had a Martin Logan Dynamo 500 and it sounded great, except for the fact that it couldn't get the couch shaking before bottoming out. The ML was very musical, but for Home Theater use it just didn't do the trick. My BluRay test for subwoofer extension is the pixar shorts, Jack Jack Attack (where the baby does CAMPFIRE) and Lifted (where the man is first being lifted before he bumps into the wall). The ML made clapping noises during both of these scenes which clued me in that this wasn't the sub for me.I took it back and got the Klipsch SW-450 at my...

Awesome subwoofer.
I purchased two of these subwoofers to complete a 7.2 setup. I play Call of Duty and wanted enough speaker power to crack heads. When a grenade blows up next to me, I want to feel it! These subwoofers definitely deliver! I am very pleased and highly recommend Klipsch products. Big SW for Big Room
I recently moved to a new home and my family room took a giant leap in proportions. It's now an open floor plan with 20 foot ceilings. My old sub just wasn't cutting it. The Klipsch 450 makes up for what is an acoustically difficult room with strong power that comes through clean. Excellent subwoofer.Amazone service and price was 10-15% below my local store, plus I save the sales tax. A great deal with great service.

Who Need's Bose???
I recently upgraded my system with a new receiver and needed some new speakers to complement them. I wanted the Bose Acoustimass speakers forever but couldn't bear dropping a G on them. I also wanted to stay in the "bookshelf" size speaker as it suited my set up better. So I decided to try these for less than half the price of the Bose. I figured I could return them if they didn't thrill me. Short story....they did.I was floored by the fullness of the sound. They hit the highs, mids, and lows like a champ. I like to use the action bits on Terminator 3 to test out new recievers and speakers and these really impressed me with a huge wall of sound. I knew they were good when I got excited while watching a movie I'd seen so many times before. It was almost like listening to it for the first time. I also popped in some cd's and I swear I heard things in some of my music that I've never heard before.I'd heard those Bose speakers a dozen times at Comp USA and Best Buy...

Better than Bose for less
Recently was over a friend's house and noticed that he had a Bose system and was impressed with the sound. I had a Sony HTIB set up that I was not too crazy about but had to compromise because my wife is particular on how things look and will compromise perfomance. I decided to upgrade my system, but I wanted to do this without spending Bose money. I went with a Yamaha RX-V663 receiver and paired it with the Klipsch speakers. The results were beyond my expectations. The clarity of the sound was outstanding. The lows really come thru these speakers well. My wife's jaw dropped when she heard the results. I recommend people to do the research and check out these speakers. Most people see the name "Bose" and buy into the name because of there exposure on TV and magazine adds. I believe I have better sound than a bose system for a fraction of the cost.

I bought this from Ebay brand new for only about 359.00 dollars. What's nice is that even at a low volume you can hear a full range of sound. High end sound for a low end price. I'm sure if you have a very large living room you can stick all four speakers in the rear for 7.1 and buy a pair of large floor Klipsch speakers for the Front Right and Left. Perhaps a larger center channel if you're more than 10-15 feet from your screen. For my apartment living room these are perfect though. As I run on I should also mention that the built wall mounts are awesome! You can tilt the rear speakers inward if your couch is against the wall.
