Just about perfect
We bought two of these boosters for our 7 and 9 year olds. They love them and so do we. They fit the kids perfectly, they fit the car perfectly. They are very solidly built and seem like they should be twice as safe in a crash as your average car seat. The size adjusment is simple and wide ranging. The material on these is really nice. It seems nicer than the vivo lite so I'd suggest spending the few dollars more for the vivo.I can only think of a couple reasons why these wouldn't be the best choice for anyone else. One is they are kind of heavy. So if you have to lug the booster around frequently for some reason you will get a workout. Two is the fact that they are quite the sporting design. Like I said they fit my kids great, but my kids are both skinny. If your kids are on the plump side they might find this booster a bit claustrophobic. Top to learn more

I LOVE this carseat
I was searching for the perfect booster seat for my 3 1/2 year old son when I came across the Recaro Vivo Booster Seat. I looked at their website and all of the safety features and compared it to other top of the line seats like Britax. My son was transistioning from the Britax Marathon so safety is very important to me. When I saw all of the safety features I decided to go with the Recaro Vivo over the Britax Parkway or the Monarch. I liked the deep head and body wings that cradeled my son and the side impact protection that they offered. Even though I have a car with side impact airbags in the front and rear, you can never be too safe when it comes to your child. The seat is very stable and fits perfectly in any seat in the rear of the vehicle. The seat offers three reclining posistions so that you can get the most accurate fit in your car. Awesome carseat! We own 4 of them!
We needed new carseats once the children outgrew the "convertible" carseats which don't last nearly as long as they ought. We tried the twins in every booster we could lay our hands on. They hated them all. I was very impressed with the Recaro safety features but couldn't get my husband to agree to the price sight unseen. I finally found a Recaro booster in a local baby specialty store and was even more impressed in person. Better yet, both children loved it. At 3 years old, they were so happy with the comfort and I was so happy with the convenience and safety. I immediately ordered two online. After one week, both children refused to ride in my husband's car anymore because he had the "baby" seats installed and they wanted their "big kid" seats. After two weeks, my husband asked me to order two more. The twins are now 6 and STILL love their carseats and so do we. Good Seat
I was in a bad crash and my 5 year old who is 40 LBS was in this seat. He was fine although the car was a total loss. I just bought another one. He says its very comfy on 60 mile rides and I would rather he has to lean a little to look out the window than not be protected on the side. For little ones make sure you strap them yourself in order to get the best belt tension.

a good buy
We bought these for our children, ages 5 and 7, who are both of average size. The seats are comfy, especially for long car rides. The one drawback is that because of how the seat belt is routed through the car seat, the tension makes it somewhat difficult for our 5-year-old to buckle on his own. But that will pass as our 7-year-old has no problem with it.

This booster did its job well
My family and I were recently involved in a serious car accident where our car was broadsided. My 5 year old daughter and I were on the side of the car that bore the full force of the collision. I was belted in the front seat, but suffered multiple fractures. My daughter was in her Recaro Vivo seat and sustained nothing more than a cut on her face from the broken glass and a little muscle soreness. Her booster seat, which I had selected because of its superior side impact protection, kept her safe before breaking in two from the impact.We are profoundly grateful that we purchased a Recaro booster and that it did its job so very well. Very sturdy booster
My 3 year old was outgrowing her 5 point harness seat so I went to Target to buy the graco that my 4 year old has in pink but thankfully they didn't have it. I decided to order it on-line and began reading reviews for several different boosters. I ended up buying her this pink Recarro and also bought the blue on for my son. They arrived today and we love them. I feel terrible for ever putting my son in that flimsy graco!!!! This Recarro is strong, sturdy, has a lot of side support including around the head which will help with naps on our upcoming road trip. The children are so excited to sit in them and feel very comfortable. My 3 year old is probably an inch too short for her head to fall right in between the side supports. The head piece raises quite a bit so I feel confident that the children will be in these boosters for years. They fit perfectly in the back of our very small prius. This seat is perfect in every way. It fully supports my four-year-old son, is easily adjusted to change with him, and he says it's very comfortable. Functional car seat
I purchased this car seat, and the pink one.While the car seat itself is very well constructed, there are two main problems with this one.1. This seat rattles. A lot. The pink one doesn't, but this one does. It is actually quite irritating, and almost impossible to stop. We have stuffed some rubber weather stripping in the back, which seems to help. I realize this is just a problem with this one seat, but it is pretty crazy how bad it is. I would have returned it, but you know what car seats look like after one long trip in them? Yuck. In the future, I would try this out and shake the H*LL out of it before you use it, to see if it rattles.2. Buckling the seat belt is more challenging. While I don't seem to have too much trouble with it, both the kids and Daddy say that it is a pain. I am used to climbing half way into the car to reach the buckle point. 1000% better than Britax.
This booster is easy to use and our 5 year old says it is super comfortable. We also have the Parkway (Britax). The Recaro construction is way solider and the fabric is much nicer and more durable. This seat and our last Recaro have converted me from a Britax mommy to a Recaro mommy. If you want a real comparison of the two brands, take the covers off. Britax saves lives and our severe crash proves it for me.
Thank God for Britax. I will try to make this short and sweet. 1 week ago yesterday, my family of 5 and another child who was with us were hit while traveling between 45-50 miles per hour by someone speeding through a stop sign. The accident was so quick we did not even have time to hit the brakes. Most of the initial impact and roll impact was the worst on the passenger side. The side where my son was...in his Britax booster. My car FLIPPED, as in up in the air and came crashing down on the roof at least once, maybe twice...then continued to roll a little less violently, but still violent none the less. All together we flipped and rolled 4 TO 5 TIMES, landing finally on the roof for the final roll, then slid down the road on the roof. Once we came to a stop, my car was 50 or more yards from the initial impact, facing the wrong direction, and in a different lane. To say my car is totaled is an under statement. Nice booster, but not perfect.
I've been a bit of a car seat fanatic since before my first child was conceived (she's nearly 8). In that time I have tested out lots of seats and done side by side comparisons of the features each seat offers. Britax and Graco are two of my favorite brands of car seats. Both generally offer ease of use and adequately cushioned and comfortable seats. When it comes to five point harness convertible seats, Britax has always been my brand of choice. Once you experience the superior design, impact protection, luxurious fabrics and incredible ease of use, most other seats on the market simply don't compare.In the past, I have not been impressed with many elements on Britax booster seats. Four and a half years ago the ease of use when compared to the Graco high back Turbo Booster was dismal, and the comfort level was lacking as well. A Bit Disappointed
I'm a certified child passenger safety technician so when I had the chance to try the new Britax Parkway Slide Guard, I was thrilled. I know child restraints inside and out.Britax has been talking for over a year about this seat and how it will fit children up to 120 lbs and how it will have the slide guard mechanism. In a crash, forward facing occupants do what is called submarining. This is when the hips slide forward in a crash causing the lap belt to ride up over the lower abdomen. The slide guard mechanism is intended to eliminate that, thereby reducing internal injuries in children. Thankfully, I wasn't in a crash with the seat so I can't rate that, but knowing Britax and their extensive testing, it probably does a very good job.One of the selling points of the Parkway Slide Guard was that it was more narrow and would make fitting three across a back seat easier.
